Gorleston is Norfolk's 'best kept secret' with its golden sandy beach (Lifeguard patrolled), perfect for bathing, building sand castles, watersports, angling etc. Adjoining the beach is the children's paddling pool and the yacht pond.

Gorleston Bandstand is in sight and sound of the cottage. Enjoy a Summer Sunday afternoon relaxing to a variety of bands. On the cliff top there are beautiful gardens, lawns, tennis courts, bowling and putting greens, a children’s ‘Pirate Ship’ play area and a trim-trail. Just along the cliffs is Gorleston Golf Club.

The river, just 100 metres away, is one of two entrances to the Norfolk Broads. Gorleston Pier is a favourite spot for sea anglers offering a good variety of fishing all year round. The Norfolk Broads National Park with wide open spaces, marshland and the natural environment provides a great area for bird watching
